Ohh boy now that’s a question.. if I close my eyes and let my imagination run wild I can see it in my mind’s eye (I’ll explain the scene first then the links to them)…
The room was silent except for the rhythmic breathing of the soul lying in the bed.
the back of a hand resting against his forehead.
Wincing feeling the heat radiating off fevered skin.
With a sigh reaching for the bowl of water beside dipping a cloth into it.
Wringing out the excess water dripping into the bowl, placing the damp cloth on the forehead, careful not to apply too much pressure.
soft murmurs coming from lips as the fever rages, words no one can decipher.
It was clear from the lines on the face and the restlessness, the body was battling a raging fever.
Quickly exchanging the cloth for a fresh one as the first became too warm, continuing to the task of cooling down the fevered brow.
Taking a break from the ministrations, leaning forward to check the pulse.
fingers gentle and tentative, not wanting to disturb.
brushing hair back from the forehead.
It was a tender gesture, done with the utmost care as if handling a fragile object.
As the long night wore on, humming softly under their breath, a melody not heard in years.
It was a lullaby, sung to children when they were small.
It was a song remembered from a time when feverish nights were a common occurrence in the household.
hoping it would bring comfort to the person in their care.
Okay, that’s all I got, yeah I know I’m no writer that’s for sure…but I enjoy dabbling…anyway, the closest scene I ever got was GH’s Jason Morgan in one of his whump scenarios er like…here, here, and here..
